Parenting a Deaf child - is this different?
There are many challenges in becoming a parent and learning what extras there will be about parenting a deaf child can initially seem very daunting.

In 2005 the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) published a booklet on ‘Parenting a Deaf Child’. There are sections and information contributed by parents of children of all ages and language abilities, both signing and speaking.  Subjects covered include:

Developing Communication
Warning children of danger
Helping your child mix with others
Dealing with emotions
Managing frustrations
Raising confidence

You can obtain the booklet or a CD-Rom version from:
